The party song you’ve been waiting for!

ITS FINALLY HERE! The crew at 2AM Club has finallynybf released their first single of their much anticipated new album. Tell me you can’t imagine this being the song of the summer this year? It will definitely be the song you hear on the radio and in the clubs in the coming months. Check it out here first and spread the word!

Also, add it to your Spotify playlist or pick it up on iTunes!

What is “atmospheric English indie pop” music? This is.

That’s the term some use to describe the hypnotic beats of English band The xx. It’s hard to argue, although I think I would probably replace “pop” with “rock”, but either way its great music, a great band and their 2012 album Coexist was one of the best of the year.  Check them performing “Angels” live st Seattle’s KEXP radio station. They sound just as good live as on the album. Let me know what you think!

Muse is for music lovers!

Its well documented that Muse is my favorite band in the world. I think their creativity in unparalleled, they write, arrange and produce their own music, and they seamlessly mix a variety of influences into their albums from hard rock to metal, trance, classical and punk. To me its perfect!

Their latest album came out a few weeks ago and to me it is fantastic. They didn’t just make more of the same, they tried new things and I think succeeded.  Check out this video below, its a behind the scenes look at their making 3 tracks off their new album The Second Law, and they just so happen to be my 3 favorite track: “Madness”, “Big Freeze” and “Explorers”.

I hope you enjoy them like I do!

If you like Amy Winehouse, you will love this song!

Check this track out called”Never Forget You” by Noisettes off their 2009 album Wild Young Hearts.  Be forewarned, the track is infectious and you will probably have this feel-good tune stuck in your head for a while after listening.  While this London band skews more indie/punk rock, this song brings you back to the doo wop feel good era of music. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Good luck not hearing this in a Spanish speaking city :)

While “Danza Kuduro” came out in 2010 you would be hard pressed to not hear this track at some point while out and about in Spain to this day. This dance floor staple by Puerto Rican Don Omar was a #1 hit across pretty much all Latin charts and contains both Spanish and Portuguese elements only helping to make this song a massive international hit. Personally, I whistled this song for about a week straight while in Spain, so now I hope its gets stuck (or restuck) in your head.

Pop music from Denmark I promise you will like!

Its a bold promise, but the funny thing about this song is even without knowing what she is singing in Danish, you can still enjoy the song and get whats going on here. The song is by Medina who won Best Danish Artist honors at both the 2009 and 2011 MTV European Music Awards.  I was put on to this track while in Copenhagen this summer where she is pretty much their version of Britney Spears. This track is called “Kl. 10″ and I dare you not to enjoy it :)

My first music video!

Well not really, but I did put some of my pictures and videos from my Euro Trip this summer to the sounds of Sigur Ros’ “Hoppipola”. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out. You can also see what 7 hours of me and iMovie produces. (not too impressive!) haha

The Kooks. Great song for your summer playlist!

British pop/post punk rock band The Kooks came on the scene in 2005, and unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) their debut album debuted on the same day as the much anticipated monster debut album of another Brit band, The Arctic Monkeys. That allowed The Kooks to travel under the radar for some time but not too long as their album of catchy songs wouldnt go unnoticed for long. They eventually top the charts in the UK and Ireland and won the MTV Europe Music Award for best UK/Ireland band in 2006.

This track has made its way on to my Summer 2012 mix because its just such a feel good song. Its called “Naive” and is off that debut album. Check it!
