If David Guetta made the soundtrack for Last of the Mohicans, I think it would sound like this. Now there are probably few people out there that know both David Guetta and that soundtrack so this metaphor probably makes no sense, but either way this track by AWOLNATION is a good one. To me this is good around the house/relaxing music, but it may be a little too rough for some tastes. Check out “Sail” and let me know what you think!

What is “atmospheric English indie pop” music? This is.
That’s the term some use to describe the hypnotic beats of English band The xx. It’s hard to argue, although I think I would probably replace “pop” with “rock”, but either way its great music, a great band and their 2012 album Coexist was one of the best of the year. Check them performing “Angels” live st Seattle’s KEXP radio station. They sound just as good live as on the album. Let me know what you think!
***All Time Favorite*** Painted By Numbers
So I figure from now on I’ll highlight some songs that are on my list of all time favorites. These are songs that I feel best capture my musical preferences or really connected with me or a time in my life. This song is definitely on that list, and its “Painted By Numbers” by Swedish indie rock band The Sounds.
I dont even recall how I was introduced to this band, but it was in NYC circa 2007 and they’re songs remained on the PH3 party mix ever since. Aside from being in love with their lead singer Maja Ivarsson, they do a killer live performance and their indie rock/new wave fusion makes you feel like you are rocking out in a European club circa 1984.

“Help Im Alive” by Metric has been a steady one on my playlist this past winter. A great uptempo track that has some hints of 80′s pop/dance with some modern indie rock mixed in. Great for all social occasions or rocking out in the car
