ITS FINALLY HERE! The crew at 2AM Club has finally released their first single of their much anticipated new album. Tell me you can’t imagine this being the song of the summer this year? It will definitely be the song you hear on the radio and in the clubs in the coming months. Check it out here first and spread the word!
Also, add it to your Spotify playlist or pick it up on iTunes!
This is just a fun and quirky song from 60′s pop band The Turtles. You may not know this track of theirs, but I’m sure you know their biggest hit “Happy Together“. Anyhow, check out this classic oldie, “Eleanor”, and enjoy!
Also, please take time to appreciate the hair of the band members
I’m not sure how their label hasn’t found this on YouTube and taken it down yet (and maybe after my posting it they will), but here is one of the best live concert films ever made. It’s from U2′s 2001 Elevation Tour, live from Boston.
To me, this was U2 in its prime. They were at the peak of their career and influence, they had just put out their album All That You Can’t Leave Behind which was chock full of classics from beginning to end, they had a creative new stage layout and HD and multi-camera recording technique in place. Socially, Bono was in the midst of his big ONE Campaign against poverty and his global influence was booming. Historically, it was a significant moment as well because the albums popularity and the Elevation Tour took place around the tragedy of 9/11 and for many living in NYC at the time, myself included, the album became a soundtrack to the healing process.
This video was certainly an all time favorite of mine and I urge you to watch it in its entirety, especially when he sings “With or Without You” and ruins the night for whatever guy came with the girl he brings up on stage! hahaha
Right now its 20-something degrees in New York but its Friday and we all need a little warm pick-me-up heading into the weekend. Today it comes in the form of Colbie Caillet’s most recent single “Brighter Than The Sun”. Enjoy amd Happy Friday!
At least that’s the best description I am able to come up with for the sound that comes from South Carolina’s NEEDTOBREATHE. Check out this track “Drive All Night” off of their 4th studio album called The Reckoning. They opened up for Taylor Swift on her 2011 tour so they definitely have some street cred right? Let me know what you think about them.
If you’re like me then you probably have a Christmas playlist thats about 300 songs deep. If not, then you’re probably more normal than I am when it comes to the holidays
That said, I do have people ask me for more modern Christmas songs because they are getting bored of The Carpenters christmas tape or CD after listening to it for 40 years…
I’ve got plenty of recommendations, but to start here are Neon Trees with a fun pop/rock holiday melody thats catchy enough that I dont actually find myself getting sick of it. Perfect!
I am an unashamed lover of The Killers retro-feeling pop rock brand of music as you may know, so I was eager to hear their new album that just dropped, Battle Born. The good and bad news is that it sounds like a Killers album. For everyone that complains when a band they like goes in a new direction, there are also people like myself that would also like to see bands they like try something new to keep things fresh. What I got with their latest album was 16 more tracks that could have been on one of their last 3 albums. That said, I was drawn to this song, “Be Still”.
I think The Killers have perfected the melancholy, heart twisting rock song and this is another good entry (think Dustland Fairytale). Give it a listen, I think it will be a hidden gem on the album. Let me know what you think too!
Its a fact. Spending two years of middle school in the midwest and then the past two years in Arizona has turned me into a country music fan. While this may be a difficult reality for my New York friends and family to accept, its true. Like most of America, I must say Im drawn to the music’s simplicity, wholesomeness, patriotism, spirit and community. Ive been to a number of country concerts in the past year and they by and large are fun, happy concerts where everyone dances, knows every lyric and just parties. While driving cross country in early September I was able to see Luke Bryan play with Jason Aldean in Indianapolis and I must say it was one of the most hugh energy shoes Ive been to. This track, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” is off his 2011 album which was a monster hit on country charts. I dare you country haters to listen to this one!
I was into Young The Giant earlier this year, but pleasantly surprised to hear their sing “Cough Syrup” on rock radio when I returned from Europe. This 2011 single from this California based indie rock band has been doing well on alternative and pop charts, showing this bands crossover ability. Check out the track and let me know what you think!
Its a bold promise, but the funny thing about this song is even without knowing what she is singing in Danish, you can still enjoy the song and get whats going on here. The song is by Medina who won Best Danish Artist honors at both the 2009 and 2011 MTV European Music Awards. I was put on to this track while in Copenhagen this summer where she is pretty much their version of Britney Spears. This track is called “Kl. 10″ and I dare you not to enjoy it
